Northern Ireland Science Festival 2021
Find out more about the NI Science Festival which was held virtually from 15 - 28 February 2021
The NI Science Festival presents a unique combination of free and ticketed events focused on the wonders of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the organisers switched to delivering a digital Festival this year and given the year that has been, where never before have the remarkable advances in scientific and medical research held such prominence in the public consciousness, it is fitting that so many programmed events are designed to enlighten and ignite interest in STEM.
A number of colleagues from the WWIEM reflected on a challenging year and the continued fight against COVID-19, discussing how they have been helping the global fight against the virus in Spotlight on Covid-19 Research which was held on Thursday 18th February.
The festival also hosted a dedicated Schools Programme of online events for schools, educators and parents who have been home schooling, which took place the week before the opening of the main festival from Monday 8th - Friday 12th February.
With over 200 events consisting of a mixture of international and local speakers, there was certainly something for everyone!
