Queen’s Graduates’ Association elects new leadership for University’s 180th anniversary
Queen’s largest alumni association will play a key role in uniting the University’s global network of graduates, its newly elected President has said.
Holly Poots, a Queen’s law graduate and now Associate General Counsel at Kainos, has been elected to lead the Queen’s Graduates’ Association (QGA).
At its recent AGM, the association elected Holly and a new coordinating committee drawn from a diverse range of sectors across business, technology, communications and finance.
“What an honour to have been appointed as President of the Queen’s Graduates’ Association,” Holly said.
“It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to represent alumni who were drawn to Queen’s as I was - the beautiful and impressive red brick building, the grassy quad, and something that always felt special to me - the Seamus Heaney Centre. Chancellor Clinton has previously summed up Queen’s perfectly: ‘Queen’s is special - a university with global reach and local impact’. As a proud graduate, I look back on my fond memories, and as President of the Queen’s Graduates’ Association, I now look forward to making new memories and embrace the role of bringing our graduates together from across the globe. The newly established committee will work together to give back and support the University’s vision and nurture and create new trusted relationships with the University whilst amplifying the voices of our graduates.”
The committee’s new Vice President, Phil Murray, is People and Skills Lead at NI Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The new committee members also include Paula Collins Commercial Lawyer at BT, Nuala McAdams Manager Government and Infrastructure at EY, Ruchira Rangaprasad CMO and Co-Founder at Balantra and Dylan Carlin Consultant at OutForm. They are joined by previous QGA senior office holders, Victoria Denoon and Feargus McCauley.

Queen's President and Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Ian Greer, welcomed the election of the new QGA committee: “We are proud of the fact that our alumni have such an incredible record of achievement around the world,” Sir Ian said.
“As we look towards the University’s 180th anniversary next year, Queen’s Graduate Association can play a crucial role in celebrating that success and creating the connections to fuel further progress. Congratulations to the newly elected QGA committee and best wishes for your term in office.”
