Piloting ‘Conversations’ with 90 Young People in the Shankill Community
The Innovation Zones team has been working alongside Greater Shankill Children and Young People Zone in their long-term commitment to provide bespoke wrap around support to the children and young people of the Shankill community.
One way in which the CYP are being supported, is through their engagement in 'Conversations’ with trained adult Pathfinders.
The Conversations focus on the CYP’s current life circumstances and their aspirations for the future, highlighting any supports the CYP may need. A pilot of this process has been undertaken, involving 90 CYP from the Greater Shankill area. The Innovation Zones team has been supporting the team at GSP in their design and delivery of this process, and have subsequently been analysing the pilot data. The Conversations pilot has been successful in informing and improving upon the Conversations process, as well as highlighting some preliminary insights into the aspired outcomes of the CYP of Shankill. The Innovation Zones team continues to work with GSP to scale-up this process, involving more CYP, the findings of which will result in the development of a CYP-informed outcomes framework for the Shankill community.
