Your journey begins with gathering all crucial documents. Make multiple copies of each document and store them safely in a plastic pocket or folder in your carryon luggage to prevent loss or damage. Additionally, keep digital copies on platforms like Dropbox or Google Drive. Here's a list of essential documents:

  • Final Award Letter: Proof of your acceptance.
  • Travel Itinerary: Details of your flight and travel plans.
  • Travel Insurance: For peace of mind and coverage.

  • Medical Reports: Including prescriptions and vaccination records.

  • Underwear: Two weeks' worth.
  • Handkerchiefs, Socks: Four weeks' worth.

  • Specialty Ingredients: If you have favorite ingredients or snacks that are unique to Indian cuisine and might be hard to find, consider bringing a small supply.
  • Homemade Mixes: Ready mixes for dishes like dosa, idli, or sambar can save you time and effort.

  • First Aid Kit: Include essentials like bandaids, antiseptic cream, and a thermometer.
