There are two reports of the law officers on this bill, the first dated 20 Feb. 1733[4], the second dated 5 Mar. 1733[4]. The amendments adopted by the EPC appear to be those in the report of 5 Mar. 1733[4].
Privy Council Notes:
- EPC committee ‘have met and considered ... and have taken the opinion of your majesty’s attorney and solicitor general thereupon and have also heard counsel upon three petitions presented against the said bill, vizt.
The 1st by the Lord Viscount Mountgarret and Thomas, lord baron of Caher, on behalf of themselves and other of your majesty’s loyal and dutiful subjects.
The 2nd by George Fitzgerald, Philip Cantillion and Robert Dillon on behalf of themselves and several other merchants.
The 3rd by Jeffry French of the Middle Temple, London, esquire, in behalf of himself and several other of your majesty’s most loyal and dutiful protestant subjects of the kingdom of Ireland
And their lordships do thereupon agree humbly to report to your majesty as their opinion that the said bill is proper to be passed with the following alterations, vizt. ..’. 7 Mar. 1733[4]. (PC 2/92, p. 355).
