Privy Council Notes:
- 'Whereas a doubt hath arisen whether it may not be proper to make some alteration in the five bills hereunder mentioned with respect to the dates for the commencement of the said bills and the days thereby appointed for the meeting of the commissioners for carrying some of the regulations therein contained into execution vizt. … It is this day ordered … that … the committee for the Irish bills do proceed to reconsider the said five bills notwithstanding his majesty's order in council of [29 May 1778] approving thereof …'. (PC 2/122, p. 172, 10 June 1778).
'Order referring five bills back to the attorney general for reconsideration, notwithstanding his majesty's order directing them to be engrossed and passed under the great seal - 172 - Reported - 174 - Appd. 183-185. NB The commencement of the above bills would have happened before they could have been passed in Ireland - therefore the day of commencement was altered by a subsequent report - The former warrants were taken up to the king at the time the order of reference was issued, and the king cancelled them by cutting off his royal signature.'
