Evan Nepean to []. 6 May 1782. ‘Sir. I am directed by the earl of Shelburne to send you an extract of a letter to his lordship from the lord lieutenant of Ireland, and to desire you will furnish me forhis lordship’s information with the reasons that have operated to occasion the detention of the bill therein referred to, in order that a reply may be made to the lord lieutenant by this night’s post.’ (PC 1/12/109).

Letter to Evan Nepean: 'I have received your letter transmitting an extract of a letter from his excellency the lord lieutenant of Ireland, to the earl of Shelburne, desiring to be made acquainted with the reasons that have operated to occasion the retention of the bill for regulating partnerships; and having laid the same before the lords of the council, I am directed to acquaint you for the information of the earl of Shelburne, that their lordships have this day again taken the said bill into consideration and agreed to report to his majesty that the same is proper to be passed without any amendment.
I am likewise directed to transmit to you a copy of the report of the late attorney and solicitor general thereupon, to be laid before the earl of Shelburne' (PC 2/127, p. 332, 7 May 1782).
