Privy Council Notes:
- EPC committee ‘this day took into consideration the Irish bill for disarming papists and also a petition of Lord Mountgarret and others against the same and heard counsel thereupon, and their lordships were pleased to refer the said bill back to the attorney and solicitor general to make some alterations therein.’ 4 Mar. 1739[40]. PC 2/95, p. 641.
EPC committee report; ‘and a petition having been presented in behalf of the Roman Catholics in Ireland praying to be heard against the said bill their lordships have accordingly heard them by their counsel thereupon as likewise counsel in support of the said bill, and do agree humbly to your majesty as their opinion that the following alterations are proper to be made ..’. 7 Mar. 1739[40].
