Privy Council Notes:
- These heads were, according to HC journal, ordered on 22 Mar. to be reported on 23 Mar.; but parliament was adjourned on 22 Mar.
The Quaker minute-book makes it clear that this was nonetheless taken to the council and laid aside there. [22 Mar. 1705: ‘the manufactory bill was read in the house today, and ordered to be read again tomorrow, but afterwards the house adjourned as before mentioned cannot now be so read as was intended’. 26 Mar. 1705: ‘the bill for regulating manufactures etc. being laid before the council board last 7th day night [24 Mar.], Amos Strettell got a view of it and found it would affect friends, and having formerly been ordered to get a copy of it’. 3 Apr. 1705: ‘the bill about manufactures is ordered to be laid aside’. (Friends Historical Library, Dublin. YM N1, ff 30r, 37v, 42r).
