Privy Council Notes:
- This bill was first transmitted by the IPC on 29 March 1705.
First referred by the EPC on 5 April.
First engrossed by the EPC on 26 April, with amendments.
When returned to Dublin, the Irish government did not lay it before parliament but, because of a 'mistake' made in England transmitted it again to London 25 May (SP 63/365, f. 274); it was presented to the EPC on 31 May and approved at the same meeting.
The date of the second appearance at the EPC has been used here, since this was the version of the bill subsequently enacted.
A 'petition of John Podmore, clerk of the crown and peace for the province of Leinster in Ireland praying to be heard against a bill transmitted from that kingdom relating to the fees of his said office' (25 Apr. 1705, PC 2/80, pp 330-1) may refer to this bill, though it is possible that it refers to 'To prevent fees where bills are returned ignored'.
