Bradley Headstone
Schoolmaster of Charley Hexam, he falls in love with Lizzie Hexam. Around 26 years old he is respectable and ‘decent’ in appearance. Rising from his low origins through study, Headstone finds himself unable to control his passion and jealousy. He feels inferior to Eugene Wrayburn, and the two become rivals for Lizzie. Headstone attempts to murder Wrayburn after spying on him and Lizzie. Rogue Riderhood attempts to blackmail Headstone resulting in their drowning.
