Developing Social and Emotional Skills in a Time of Crisis
Queens University and Ukraine Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University are working together to develop a new educational course for school leaders and teachers.
Dr Liam O’Hare (SSESW & Director Innovation Zones and STRIDE) and Dr Laura Dunne (SSESW & Deputy Director Innovation Zones) will partner with Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University through the QUB STRIDE social impact consultancy and Mitchell Institute on a project entitled Development of Social and Emotional Skills in School Education System in a Time of Crisis.
After a series of meetings with Dr Liliia Hrynevych, First Vice-Rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and previous Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine (2016-19) it has been agreed that the partnership will focus on the creation of an educational course focused on training school leaders and teachers about social and emotional skills. This will include introducing social and emotional skills to traditional subject courses and the assessment of the subsequent social and emotional climate developed in schools.
