The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic appointed Prof Karola Dillenburger to the External Research Evaluation (RE) panel the Evaluation of Research Organisations in the Higher Education Segment 2025+. The aims of this process are similar to UK REF.

The evaluation of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Czech Republic is conducted to improve the quality and efficiency of the R&D&I management at all levels and to increase its international competitiveness. HEIs are key players in the R&D&I system in the Czech Republic, and their comprehensive evaluation takes place every five years. The evaluation primarily focuses on the research activities of HEIs. The evaluation is conducted by the Council for Research, Development, and Innovation at the Government of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, in cooperation with other stakeholders.

Professor Dillenburger will focus on the research evaluation of Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic.

Participation in the RE includes preparation before the meeting, attendance, evaluation, and drafting of the final evaluation report during the RE meeting and on-site visit in June 2025.
