EEECS Centre for Education & Society (CES) champions the development of computing and engineering as a core educational subject from early years through to graduate studies. CES serves as a hub connecting education professionals within the University, offering leadership and expertise across faculties and external organisations.

CES recognises the pervasiveness of technology in society and its direct and indirect impacts; these can be both positive and problematic. Our mission is to leverage the transformative power of education in supporting our current and future generations tackling global issues responsibly and sustainably. We do so by engaging our research and education in “Grand Challenges”, with a current focus on AI and Sustainability (Environmental, Societal, Economic) in Education.

Our long-term vision is to help support a thriving community of computing and engineering education, within and outside academia, which is committed to research-based and societally relevant EC education, ultimately enhancing educational opportunities and delivering lasting benefits to society.
