QUB Prizewinners at the American Conference for Irish Studies, 2025

Two Queens' historians received awards for their Irish-Studies research at the 2025 ACIS Conference in Savannah, GA.

Ruth Duffy's award announced at ACIS, Savannah, 25 Feb. 2025

Congratulations to our colleagues Dr Ruth Duffy and Dr Tom Hulme on winning the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS) Donald Murphy Prize for Distinguished First Book and Ann Owens Weekes Prize for best article in Irish Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Sexuality Studies, and/or Intersectional Studies, respectively.

Ruth's book Healthcare and the Troubles: The Conflict Experience of the Northern Ireland Health Service, 1968–1998 (Liverpool UP, 2024) and Tom's article 'Queering family history and the lives of Irish men before gay liberation', History of the Family 29:1 (2024), were the publications so recognised.
