George Burton Wins Major Technical Excellence Prize
This week the Royal Society of Chemistry have recognised George Burton for his achievements in developing outstanding glass-blowing expertise
RSC Technical Excellence Prizes are awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the chemical sciences made by individuals or teams working as technicians or in technical roles. They are highly competitive and represent the highest level of achievement.
The prize panel highlighted the role which Mr Burton’s work has played in supporting research and teaching nationally and internationally, over nearly four decades.
Glassblowing skill of the highest order:
Mr Burton will be presented with his £3,000 prize and trophy at the National Conference for Science Technicians which will be held in London on 4th September 2024 in September.
Speaking about his award he said: “ I am absolutely delighted to receive this very prestigious award. This award is acknowledgement of all the other technicians I have worked with and supported me with their expertise and specialist skills throughout my career.”
