QUILL researchers have just returned from the 9th Congress on Ionic Liquids (COIL-9) in Lyon, France - the largest ionic liquids conference globally.
Professor John Holbrey delivered a well-attended Seddon lecture, named after our late Professor Ken Seddon, after which he received a prize.
Professor Gosia Swadźba-Kwaśny and Dr Leila Moura delivered amazing talk on their area of research, liquid coordination complexes and Gaz uptake and separation respectively.
They were joined by a cohort of QUILL researcher. Dr Novina Malviya, one of our research assistant, delivered a speach on her research on "Ionic liquid encapsulated biomimetic zinc-based catalyst for industrially-viable CO2 hydrolysis" and two QUILL PhD students: Haris Amir (Holbrey's group) and Sam McCalmont (Moura's group) presented their work in front of the audience on their research.
Among a very busy poster session with over 250 presenters, 10 QUILL researcher presented their work during two different poster session. Kudos to all of them!!!!
Everyone has enjoyed their stay and the French gastronomie, and more precisely the "gastronomie lyonnaise".
