Utrecht University Summer School
We are grateful for Utrecht University hosting our students for a summer course in law and sustainability. Last week, we shared some pictures of our student's time there, and today, we want to bring you some words of reflection from one of our participants on the course, Declan Gorman.
Declan had these words of reflection, “Following graduation at the start of July; it was great to start summer off with a nice break in the city of Utrecht.
Utrecht is home to one of the top universities in Europe.
I was very lucky to receive a scholarship from Queen's University Belfast to study Utrecht University’s Law and Sustainability summer course.
The highlight of the course was exploring the legal aspects of constructing, operating and maintaining offshore wind farms. These huge farms span acres and often require bespoke legal agreements.
Utrecht is a student city with a great buzz and lots of things to do.
Utrecht University also put on various activities such as canoeing, bowling and a pub quiz - which was in Utrecht's local Irish pub!
It’s also just a short train ride away from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and even the Hague, where you can visit the International Court of Justice!
I would highly recommend the course to anyone interested in the renewables/energy sector. Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn if you have any questions about the summer school or Utrecht."
Thank you to Queen's University Belfast and the faculty of Arts, Humanities And Social Sciences for providing this wonderful opportunity for our students.
