The Maths Academy at Queens University Belfast has been working with colleagues across the university and wider community to deliver MathsQUBe, a FREE programme of daily maths activities for primary school children.

3 times per week at 10.30am, MathsQUBe brings a new fun maths educational video which teaches children the importance of maths in our everyday lives and shows how important maths is for so many things in everyday life. The Maths Academy is asking QUB academics to support us in providing videos for children to watch, videos only need to be short 5 - 10 minute maths related fun and educational video for primary aged children, and your contributions to this initiative would be very much appreciated.

You can create the video alone or with family/pets/props to show something related to maths in your job/hobby/life. 

• It can be as simple as multiplication or basic data analysis, or telling the time to attend meetings, or more complicated, like ratios
• Maybe as a fitness instructor (in your spare time!) you use angles to explain the correct way to exercise
• Or you might use fractions to measure food in a recipe
• If you are interested in fashion design or engineering you could show how taking precise measurements or estimating the cost and profit of materials is essential.
