New textbook emphasises the unity of Mathematics
Professor Martin Mathieu’s most recent book has just come out in Springer Nature.
Classically Semisimple Rings is the title of Professor Martin Mathieu’s most recent book, which just came out in Springer Nature.
The main topic is a rather specialised area within noncommutative Algebra, however, as Professor Mathieu explains, the discussion takes place in a comprehensive setting and touches on a number of areas of Pure Mathematics.
“The special feature of this book is that it combines ideas from ring theory, module theory and category theory into a densely woven tapestry elucidating the way different areas of Mathematics work together, and are needed, to fully understand a given problem. Moreover, connections and interrelations with topology and analysis are also dealt with in this book.”
Martin Mathieu is the Professor of Pure Mathematics in the Mathematical Sciences Research Centre and a member of the Royal Irish Academy since 2010.
