Professor Ann Bonner
Dr Ann Bonner is Professor of Nursing and Director of Research (School of Nursing) and Chronic Conditions Management program leader (IHBI) at Queensland University of Technology. She is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Kidney Health Service, Metro North Hospital and Health Service where she leads the Renal Nursing Professorial Unit, and a Visiting Scholar at Princess Alexandra and Logan Hospitals. She is a Chief Investigator with two NHMRC funded Centres of Research Excellence, one in Chronic Kidney Disease and the other in End of Life Care, and has attracted over $6 million in competitive research funding.
Ann has over 30 years’ experience in nephrology. She has published over 130 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and has delivered 150 peer reviewed conference presentations and invited papers. Ann is recognised nationally and internationally as an expert renal nurse, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Australian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN), an Associate Editor for the Renal Society of Australasia Journal, Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Renal Care and the Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Renal Society of Australasia. In 2014, she was awarded an Honorary Professor appointment at Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam.
