The School of Nursing and Midwifery are pleased to announce that the winners of the 2023 Children’s Cancer Unit Charity (CCUC) Travel Scholarship are Jane Beattie, Katie Russell and Sophie Mills.
These students will travel to Atlanta, USA this autumn for three weeks where they will get to visit the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare, which is a national leader in childhood cancer, haematology, and blood and marrow transplant programs, serving infants through to young adults. The centre is recognised as one of the largest and most renowned childhood cancer centres in the U.S., annually caring for more than 2,500 children with cancer and more than 5,000 children with sickle cell disease, haemophilia and other blood disorders.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery would like to thank all those who applied and wish the selected students all the very best for their trip in the autumn. We look forward to hearing from Jane, Katie and Sophie about their experience.
