Cardiac Research Group
Who are we?
We are a group of healthcare professionals who work in partnership to develop and run research studies to improve the quality of life of people with cardiac conditions. The team includes Nurses, Doctors, Nutritionists, Psychologists and other professionals.
Examples of what do we do
The HELP study: caring for carers in heart failure.
This study has worked with carers to develop an advice booklet and online support for family members of patients with heart failure.
Weight loss & heart failure.
In this study we are trying to identify weight loss in patients with heart failure and find out how it impacts their daily life.
Rejuvenating Cardiac Rehabilitation.
We have worked in partnership with patients and professionals to make life-saving rehab more appealing to those who need it after a cardiac event.
Improving family Heart health.
In this study we are creating an online programme with families, to prevent future heart conditions caused by unhealthy lifestyle choices.
How can you help?
We are inviting people from Northern Ireland with experience of a heart condition to join this group. You will tell us what questions are important to you and give your opinion on the design of new studies, helping us to improve our research and its impact.
