Dr Susan Clarke has won the journal of material sciences best paper award
Dr Susan Clarke, contributing author in QUB multidisciplinary team, has won the journal of material sciences best paper award. Susan was part of a multidisciplinary team from QUB that were announced as winners of the prestigious 2016 Best Paper Award by the Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine. The paper which is entitled 'Biocompatibility of calcium phosphate bone cement with optimised mechanical properties: an in vivo study' is the culmination of an Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPSRC) funded research project which examined the development of effective treatments for burst fractures of the spine.
