The nursing profession is increasingly being relied upon for its expertise in a widening array of public health and workforce issues around the world. The International Council of Nurses and CGFNS International (NGO with Consultative Status to the United Nations) have developed the first-ever certification program to develop a cadre of Certified Global Nurse Consultants.

This enables the International Council of Nurses to identify specialists to address the increasing demand for expert nursing counsel worldwide. As a Global Nurse Consultant this will allow Professor Reid to contribute to International Council of Nurses initiatives and consult with governments, healthcare institutions and NGOs on global health issues.
