Student Nursing Times Awards 2024
The School of Nursing and Midwifery are especially proud to have had five finalists in the Student Nursing Times Awards 2024.
Well done to Clare Thompson who was the winner in two categories, “Student Innovation in Practice,” and “Student Nurse of the year; Learning Disabilities”. Claire created ‘Makaton Monday’ across several social media platforms to improve awareness of Makaton and access to healthcare for people with learning disabilities. Claire’s work has led to a range of innovative projects and raising the need for improved communication for people with Learning Disabilities.
Fiona and Patrina were both finalists in the category of Most Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year. Claire and Patrina were finalists in the category of Student Nurse of the Year: Learning Disabilities. Claire was a finalist for the Mary Seacole Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity & Inclusion. Patrina was a finalist for Outstanding Contribution to Student Affairs, whilst both Claire and Patrina were both finalists for Student Innovation in Practice.
We also congratulate Glenn Mc Dowell who was nominated for Student Nurse of the Year: Adult in and Jemma Clarke who was nominated for Student Nurse of the Year: Children!
The great work and efforts of each finalist, transcends any award and we know they will all carry this into their practice.
