To mark St David’s Day (1st March 2024), the Times reports on a new letter found by Leon Litvack, Principal Editor of the Dickens Letters Project.
Dickens has a joke at the expense of the teetotalling St David’s Society in New York, to whom he was due to speak to mark the Welsh festival, on 1 March 1842.
