Athena SWAN SAT at EEECS Away Day 2024
As this academic year comes to an end, we held our annual Athena SWAN SAT Away Day where the SAT team met outside of the university campus to brainstorm ideas and best practice to support gender equity in the School of EEECS.
Part of the EEECS SAT team's objective is to regularly review our progress and action plan, which has been created to address gender inequalities and embed inclusive culture in the School.
We are pleased to see our continued efforts working with improvements in staff gender equity - particularly with an increase in female senior lecturers by 22% compared to five years ago, and increases in the number of PGT and PGR female students compared to 5 years ago. However, we still have more to do to support gender equity in the School, particularly among the UG cohort and at the professional support staff level.
Moving forward, first - a big thanks to all of the SAT team for all of your efforts over the past year in ensuring EEECS is an inclusive place for work and study. Our SWAN SAT working groups are open to all staff (research, teaching and professional staff services) and students at all levels.
If you would like join us in supporting our activities or wish to share your ideas, please get in touch with the SWAN SAT team. We’d be very happy to hear from you!
