My decision to study psychology at Queen’s was really down to how versatile the career options are. I think Psychology is quite unique as it is one of the only courses that facilitates personal as well as academic growth and helps you to understand your own self as well as others. I graduated from the course with access into many avenues of employment and a fantastic base of marketable skills including data analysis, critical thinking, and communication skills which are highly valuable in many professions and have served me well during interviews. BSc Psychology
My placement year has given me valuable insight into the different job sectors available to a Psychology graduate along with the skills and qualities needed to attain a role in many different organisations. Before I went to university I had a misconception about Psychology that the only jobs you could get were therapy and social work but my course has shown me the wide range of opportunities and interdisciplinary work available such as teaching, clinical practice and research. It was reassuring to discover that I am able to work almost anywhere with the skills I have developed here at Queens. Luke
