Psychology Alumni Showcase 2022
The School was delighted in June this year to present our first in-person Alumni Showcase since before the COVID pandemic. We began the Showcase with one of our Alumni Mentoring Programme mentees, Second Year Undergraduate student Rebecca Smyth, discussing her experiences of the scheme. We followed with a review of the year from our Head of School Professor Teresa McCormack (see image) and then we finished with our very own Professor Rhiannon Turner giving us insight into the research behind, and her experience of filming for, the BAFTA-winning Channel 4 documentary The School That Tried to End Racism which aired in June 2020 (see image). The evening concluded with light refreshments and a welcome opportunity to reconnect in-person following two years of virtual events.
You can still catch up with our previous virtual events including Dr John Kremer discussing Doing Sport Psychology: The Good, The Bad and The Downright Ugly in 2021 and Terry O’Hanlon from the University’s Careers’ Service giving a Psychology-focussed careers overview in 2022. These talks are both accessible from the School’s Alumni web pages.
Professor Turner has now joined the group in the School working on promoting alumni links and is looking forward to working on further alumni events later this academic year. Watch this space for more details!
