BME Experiences in Higher Education: Social justice, Inclusion and White Privilege

This lecture will examine the experiences of Black and minority ethnic academics in higher education, It will provide statistical data on the numbers of BME academics in higher education and explore the reasons why they continue to be disadvantaged. The lecture will examine how processes of racism and exclusion continue to work to reinforce the perpetuation of whiteness and white privilege in higher education. It will conclude with exploring ways forward to examine how a social justice agenda can be achieved in higher education.
