Showcasing the QCAP model: UK Town & Gown Association Conference
The annual UK Town and Gown Association (UKTGA) conference is taking place in Manchester this year from 11-13th November, with the core theme: Building Bridges: Innovating Together for Sustainable and Inclusive Communities.
The UKTGA serves as an opportunity to explore collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing relationships between universities and communities, and how they are addressing challenges through innovation, cultural exchange, and sustainable practices.
As such the conference drew together those from academia, community and related connective roles working across the UK, Europe, USA and Canada.
The conference was attended by Dr Karen McGuigan (QCAP Community Health and Wellbeing Lead), Dr Stephanie Maguire (QCAP Research Fellow) and Fionntán Hargey (MDA Director).
As well as engaging with, and learning from, others working to enhance relationships, understanding, collaboration and innovation between universities and their surrounding communities; Fionntán, Karen, Stephanie took the opportunity to present the QCAP model, reflecting on the partnership with the Market community and showcasing practical examples of the QCAP model in action.
