The Future Ethicist Shield: Judges Wanted
Want to test out your judging skills? Sign up to judge at the Future Ethicist Shield, an ethics-focused high school debating competition hosted by Queen's.
This year, Queen's University Belfast will be launching its own terminal version of the Ethics Cup competition: the Future Ethicist Shield, which will take place in the Peter Froggatt Centre (PFC) on Monday 9th December.
Judges, working in panels of three, will assess competitors' skills in critical reasoning, respectful deliberation, and communication as they deal with some of the most challenging ethical issues of our day. To get a sense of the kind of topics being debated, please see the Ethics Cup archives.
A number of matches will be taking part throughout the day, each lasting one hour. If you would like to volunteer as a judge for one or more of the matches then please contact Suzanne Whitten (suzanne.whitten@qub.ac.uk) by Friday 1st November.
Full training will be provided.
