With over 220 clubs and societies at Queen's, you have ample opportunities to start something new and meet fellow students. We’ve pulled together an A-Z list of some of our favourite clubs and societies at Queen's - check them out below!

Arts Society

Whether you're a beginner or Van Gogh-level, everyone is welcome to unleash their creativity with the Arts Society. Challenge yourself with different mediums, from charcoal to clay making - keep an eye on the society's instagram page for upcoming events.

Book Club

Take a break from your academic texts and dive into the Book Club's book of the month! From classics to thrillers, there's something for everyone.

Chess Club

Both beginners and experts are welcome to join Queen's Chess Club, which regularly hosts Chess nights with a twist (Drunk Chess, Pizza Nights, even Duck Chess!)

Dragonslayers

This is the official gaming and anime society of Queen’s and offers members a place to enjoy their chosen games, both table top and electronic, a full calendar of exciting gaming events, and a friendly environment to meet other like-minded individuals.

Esports Society

The Esports Society at Queen's welcomes those interested in competitive video gaming; with the potential to represent the University in UK and Ireland-wide tournaments!

Film Society

The Film Society is designed for those who love to watch, make and discuss films. They celebrate the art of film in a range of ways. From hosting screenings, holding pub quizzes to themed pub-crawls. They also provide a platform for budding filmmakers to collaborate with each other and provide them a chance to reach new audiences with a short film festival.

Game Developers Society

If you are interested in the world of game development and want to enhance your skills, QGDS is the society for you! With regular workshops, game jams and Nintendo Switch nights, QGDS provides a community for passionate, like-minded gamers to network, develop their portfolios, and have some competitive fun!

History Society

From day trips to bingo nights, anyone with an interest in the past is very welcome to join the History Society at Queen's. They even have clothing merch that you can show off around campus!

International Students Society (QISS)

QISS represent international students at QUB and aim to create a platform for individuals and cultures from all around the world to be celebrated. Each year they host the Qulture Shock Festival; a fantastic week of dance, music and food from across the globe. QISS is a great society for International Students to socialise, but local students are also welcome.

Jiu Jitsu

The Queen's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club provides guidance on technique, strategy, and self-defense in a fun and welcoming environment. Morning and evening sessions mean that you can train around your academic schedule!

K-Pop Society

The music genre that’s sweeping the globe! The bands are super popular but have you ever thought about what it would be like to dance like a K-Pop Star? Well, now you can! The K-Pop society get together to learn the routines to all their favourite hits. It’s a fun way to spend an evening. The best thing is that you don’t need any dance experience to come along to the K-Pop society, beginners are always welcome. They host regular taster and social sessions too.

Live Music Society

Musically-gifted or otherwise, all fans of live music are welcome to jam with the Live Music Society, which hosts anything from chill acoustics to open mic nights.

Mature Students

The Mature Students Society provides a welcoming and inclusive space for any student at Queen's who is studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree for the first time; and is aged 21 or over.

Nightline

QUB Nightline is a listening and information service for students run by students. They are part of the national charity, the Nightline Association, which operates in over 40 universities around the UK. Happy to talk to students about whatever they want, from loneliness, housing problems to relationship difficulties. Chats are completely confidential, anonymous, non-judgmental and non-directing.

Ophthalmology Society

This medical society aims to educate students and provide information on a career in all things eyes!

Players Society

If you love theatre and acting, then this is the society for you. Opportunities range from acting to lighting design and operation, and from directing, playwriting to stage management. The Queen’s Players produce high level pieces of theatre throughout the year, and also attend the annual Irish Student Drama Awards Festival where they compete against other Irish universities.

Queen’s Radio is the sound of Queen's University Belfast and Northern Ireland’s original student radio station. Based in the Students’ Union of Queen’s University Belfast and run entirely by students!

Arguably our most unique society - if you like rubber ducks, you've found your squad.

Students Against Human Trafficking Society

Liaising directly with International Justice Mission (IJM), this society works to raise awareness and funds to help put an end to human trafficking and modern slavery. 

Teddy Bear Hospital

A society which helps teach children about health and alleviate fear of medical environments. TBH is an international project and exists at 21 Medical Schools in the UK at 8 Medical Schools in Australia and 2 medical schools in Ireland. As a student volunteer you will go into schools, youth clubs and after school clubs to actively work and teach with young children.

United Nations Association

If you're passionate about international relations and global affairs, this is the society for you! The United Nations Association runs regular Model UN events which focus on debating and conflict negotiations - a great way to perfect your public speaking skills!

Volleyball Club

Whether you're interested in competitive volleyball or are just looking for some fun with friends, Queen's has both a Women's and Men's volleyball club to participate in!

Walkie Talkie Girlies Society

If you would like to stretch your legs in the evening and chat with some new friends, join the WTGS's next weekly walk and explore the city! The society has been hitting the headlines for raising awareness of violence against women and girls.
