Film Studies PhD student speaks at this year’s NI Student Royal Television Society Awards
Sean Murray, a current PhD student in Film Studies, was asked to speak at this year’s NI Student Royal Television Society Awards as a result of my success last year in winning the RTS national Award in London. I gave a talk to students on the benefits of winning such an award and the changes it has made to my own work along with the industry relationships that have been created since. I spoke about my studies at Queen’s as being hugely influential in shaping my own creative approach to filmmaking with particular reference to modules, such as Irish, European and World Cinema in offering an alternative look at how we can create a distinctive film culture here in Ireland.
