QUEst Celebration Marks Culmination of Groundbreaking Entrepreneurship Programme
Queen’s University Belfast recently hosted the QUEst Celebration, marking the conclusion of the highly successful QUEst Programme.
The event brought together students, alumni, and key figures from Northern Ireland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in a celebration of innovation, growth, and achievement.
The lunchtime event’s proceedings were MC’d by renowned comedian and science communicator Emer Maguire, whose sharp wit and engaging style kept the audience entertained throughout. Delegates from Northern Ireland’s business and start-up communities were also in attendance, providing participants with invaluable insights and follow-up opportunities to continue their entrepreneurial journeys beyond the programme.
One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of funding awards: six exceptional participants Jamie Robinson, Jordan McCambridge, Malachy Morgan, Savannah Dodd, Liam Harte, and Mark Brown received £5,000 each from QUBIS, the university’s commercialisation arm. This funding aims to help these budding entrepreneurs take their ideas to the next level, providing a strong foundation for their start-ups to thrive.
Attendees also had the chance to learn from those who have successfully navigated the entrepreneurial path. A panel discussion, hosted by Emer Maguire, featured QUEst alumni Khaula Bhutta of Inclusive Law and Brogan Brady and Conleth Mallon of Instyl. The three shared candid insights and practical advice on sustaining and growing a business post-QUEst, offering inspiration and guidance to the current cohort of entrepreneurs.
The QUEst Programme, spearheaded by the InQUBate network, contributes towards Queen’s University Belfast’s efforts to foster entrepreneurial spirit among its students. By offering structured mentorship, workshops, and funding opportunities, it equips participants with the tools needed to launch and develop successful ventures.
As the QUEst Celebration came to a close, attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose, bolstered by the resources and connections offered by Northern Ireland’s entrepreneurial network. With many exciting follow-up programmes and initiatives in the pipeline, the QUEst legacy promises to continue driving innovation and enterprise in the region.
