Queen's University Belfast hosts the International Enterprise Educators UK Conference

Panel Discussion

Queen's University Belfast partnered with Enterprise Educators UK (EEUK) this year to host the International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference (IEEC) at the prestigious new Student Hub at Queen’s Business School.

The conference took place from the 4th until 6th September 2024, gathering leading educators, professionals, and experts dedicated to advancing enterprise and entrepreneurship education.

As a key partner, Queen's University Belfast played an integral role in the event, promoting collaboration, sharing knowledge, and supporting discussions that shaped the future of entrepreneurship education. This partnership underscored our commitment to fostering entrepreneurial thinking and innovation within the academic community.

Several Queen’s University staff spoke at the event including Helen Keys, Dr Cecilia Hegarty, Francesca Morelli, Kat Maguire, Brian McCaul and Patricia Durkin.  Queen’s staff alumni also delivered keynote speeches including Professor Maura McAdam and Professor Colette Henry.

ICURe also made an appearance at the Conference with their Northern Ireland Roadshow, showcasing the benefits of participating in the programme for any entrepreneurial researchers.

Queen's University Belfast were also a platinum sponsor of the conference, along with Visit Belfast and Innocare.

The conference saw almost 50 delegates take to the Enterprise Eco system of Belfast, on an ‘Eco-System Bus Tour’, organised by Startium on the night before the conference started.

Delegates heard from Sportsman turned Entrepreneur Andrew Trimble on the first night at a social event in the prestigious Great Hall at QUB, with a drinks reception sponsored by QUBIS.  The final night took place in the Titanic Belfast Exhibition Centre, where delegates mingled and heard from the EEUK President Dave Bolton on who won in the EEUK Awards.

We were thrilled to engage with the enterprise education community and work together to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
