Introduction of eVisas - Information Sessions
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is moving to a digital immigration system. This means they are replacing physical Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) cards with an online record of your immigration status, known as an eVisa. If you currently hold a physical document to prove your immigration rights, you will need to visit www.gov.uk/evisa to set up an eVisa account. The deadline for this transition is 31 December 2024, which is also the expiry date of your BRP card.
To assist you with this transition and to answer any questions you may have, the Immigration Support Service at Queen’s is running a 45 minute online webinar on eVisa for students at 12 noon on 9th December. If you wish to attend this webinar, please click this MS Teams link to join.
IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION: From 1 January 2025, you will not be permitted to return to the UK if you have not created an eVisa account and linked your passport.
If you have already created an eVisa account, to maintain your student record, you must use the View and Prove Service and email a share code to isscompliance@qub.ac.uk.
