The latest news on eVisas
Use of expired BRPs to enter UK extended to 1 June 2025

Check your eVisa is correct before you travel - GOV.UK
Before you travel, you should check your eVisa has all the correct details. If there’s an issue with your eVisa, there are steps you can take to try to resolve it.
- Sign in to your UKVI account to check that your eVisa is linked to your current passport. You’ll still need to carry your current passport.
- You should get a share code to prove your immigration status before you travel. Your carrier may ask to see it. A share code is valid for 90 days.
- If your biometric residence card (BRC) issued through the EU Settlement Scheme or biometric residence permit (BRP) expires on or after 31 December 2024, you may be able to use your expired document to travel to the UK until 1 June 2025, where you continue to have permission to stay in the UK. You should carry it with you - your carrier may ask to see it. From the 2 June 2025, expired BRPs and BRCs will no longer be acceptable evidence of immigration status when travelling to the UK.
- You should also set up access to your online immigration status (eVisa) (online proof of your immigration status) if you have not done it already.
