Welcome to Dr Anna Truzzi
Dr Anna Truzzi - Senior Lecturer
Anna is a developmental cognitive neuroscientist focused on unraveling how the brain learns from the environment during early life, particularly in social contexts.
She earned her PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Trento, where she examined parent-infant interactions through psychophysiological studies with human participants in Italy and behavioral microanalysis with non-human primates at the RIKEN Center for Brain Science in Japan. Following her PhD, Anna joined the Cusack Lab at Trinity College Dublin. Here, she collaborated with her colleagues to measure brain activity in awake infants at 2- and 9-months using fMRI, contributing to the largest longitudinal infant cohort study conducted to date.
Anna’s current research combines neuroimaging, EEG, and computational modeling to explore how the infant brain integrates information appearing on different timescales in the world and how this links to both typical and atypical developmental pathways.
In addition to her research, Anna is passionate about science communication. She is a regular contributor to Scientificast, one of Italy's leading science podcasts, and is always open to engaging with others about brain development and neuroscience.
