Trisha completed her PhD in 2018, through the School of Education in Queen’s, which was a qualitative inquiry exploring young peoples’ perceptions of suicide in an area outside West Belfast, and their feelings of connectedness to the community. She is an experienced researcher with a keen interest in mental health research, the link between mental health and the arts, and how things may be improved for service users.
Most recently, Trisha has been working as the Post Doctoral Research Fellow on various projects in the School of Nursing and Midwifery including:
-Carers-ID, focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on family carers of those with PMLD;
-The PAINT Project, an international mapping exercise of arts-based interventions for those with kidney disease;
-The ACORN Study, the exploration of caregiver experiences of conservatively managed end-stage kidney disease.
Trisha is really excited to be starting work with Dr Mary Lavelle on the Communication and Restraint Reduction Study in the School of Psychology.
