The School of Psychology Welcomes Dr Martin Robinson
Dr Martin Robinson - Lecturer
Martin graduated from the Bsc (Hons) Psychology programme at Ulster University in 2016, and completed his PhD studentship in 2020 alongside the Northern Ireland Veterans’ Health and Wellbeing Study and was entitled “A Quantitative Investigation of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among Military Veterans in Northern Ireland”. Prior to this position Martin has worked as a Research Fellow in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the School of Psychology at QUB investigating health and wellbeing.
Martin’s research interests specifically focus on traumatic stress, health, and wellbeing. To date Martin’s research activities have investigated: the development of post-traumatic stress following childhood maltreatment, the assessment and expression of Complex PTSD among military veterans, relationship and sexual health among young incarcerated men, behaviour change programmes involving men in sexual health and family planning, and mental health following traumatic stress in Colombia.
